TEMPLES

Image
God is one and all is God.This is what I belive in. However since I am born as a Hindu I pesonally prefer to go to a temple and treat it as a place of worship.I find intense peace and happiness when I am in the temple. It is as if God comes to me and says that it is okay to be me and that He will be with me in all my attempts.I do have ma favorite temlples to.Below are the pictures of the temples in oman. All temples in muscat are small yet very good and clean. However it is not very colse to my heart.I do have respect for it but not on top of my preference list.My favorite god is hanuma so by no doubt I have to favorite Hanuman temples. One in Naganallur(Chennai). The other is on the way to Pondicherry(Pudhucherry)from Chennai it is called as panchavati hanuma kovil.Another personal favorite is Sri Aurobindo Ashram in pondicherry.(the pic below) Then the lord shiva temple near ma home and anothe one for the same God in Thirsoolam. It is vvery beautiful place indeed and very peace full to...

Hypermarket

Image
Shopping is a favorite sport for many people including me.It is a very dangerous (i meanto your pocket;))yet fully satisfying game.It is not only getting all the things you like instead it is getting all you like at the best possible rates. This seems to be possible in the hypermarkets of Muscat. There are many international players like Carrefour, Lulu and so on.For a person who is from Chennai hypermarket is more of a new found luxuary. I must not comment anything bad of chennai. It does have its own share of supermarkets but hypermarket is a concept which is more restricted towards north India alone. So next time you are in muscat do spare a whole day for shopping in some of the hypermarkets. Happy shopping:)

YITI

Image
I am more of a wide open kind of a person thus my father's friend had suggested a trip to Yiti beach which is about 20 km from Ruwi in muscat. Initially I was skeptical but as we slowly started to go in the unmanned terrain I was becoming convinced slowly but indeed surely. By gods gift today morning was very plesant. The temperature was only around a bearable 35 degeree celsius. Generally even at night in muscat the temperature will be around 45 degeree celsius. It was indeed a day to be remembered in all sense. It was all funs and games till our Volkswagon TOrgue sot stuck in the sand:(. However it seemed like as if today was our lucky day. There was another man nearby he had cumthere in a Hummer. He helped us get out of the sand and back to the road. We even had our breakfast under the tree shade. It is a plce worth seeing.Next time you are in muscat do visit the Yiti beach.

RUWI

Image
Ruwi is the commercial center of Muscat, Oman. The Ruwi High street is crowded with jewellery shops. It is also a place for shopping for the middle & upper middle class. The high street is dense with plenty of shops, ranging from jewels to clothing to electronics to music. A walk down the High street is quite eventful and worthwhile. It is not the best place to shop for clothes however the jewellary shops here are really good. Personally speaking I am a person who loves to shop so next time you come to Muscat Ruwi is worth a look.

AL HOOTA CAVE

Image
I am in the royal country of Oman. Spending some quality time with my family. We recently made a visit to a natural cave called al hoota cave. Some info of the cave is given below. Enjoy:) Show-cave Al Hoota cave is one of nature’s most spectacular highlights in the Sultanate of Oman. You can now relax through a dreamy tour in the heart of the underground where stalactites meet stalagmites. The Cave has an extraordinary dimension featuring an electrical train that starts from the visitor center reaching the mouth of the tunnel arriving to the cave’s main entrance. To enhance the visitor’s experience, a walkway is also been carved alongside, hugging the wall of the cave, with the pathway well lit by a system that throws light on the natural formations curving the walls of the cave, making the entire experience quite surreal and unforgettable. To make your experience more memorable, guided tours are provided and are customized to meet your expectation. The most intresting fact The cave h...

The Old And Moblies

Now-a-days we are able to see the advent of many new technologies. There is a new mobile launched every other day. Our phones have changed from being just calling devices to pure all-rounder. Let it be music or photos or business of Internet name it we have got it on our finger tips on our mobiles. There are so many phones with so many diverse features but it leads me to wonder " Does anyone know and have the need to use a full featured phone?" Well the answer to my question was soon obtained thanks to an unknown stranger. One fine April morning I was waiting for my college bus to arrive that is when a middle aged lady around 40-45 years of age came up to me and asked me to her her use her daughter's phone. It was mutimedia phone the Nokia's N-series. Sadly she didnt not even know how to unlock the fone. So i did help her. She did answer my quesion. Even my mother inspite of being a degree holder does not take any kind of facination to keep updating her phone or her i...

The Gender Divide

The gender divide is a topic which has been spoken by many people over and over again yet it is still an issue. Here I am not talking about the equal oppurtunities or any other such thing. Instead I am here to steam about the general notion of seperating both the genders i mean this both physically and emotionally. This topic might seem irrelavent or unnecessary to anyone who is not an Indian or lived with so Indian valeues in ones head. It is true that in every culture that childern are asked to keep away from strangers that is indeed a good thing. But most children in India are asked to keep away from the opposite sex frm when they reach their teenage. This develops a sort of divide between the two genders and a lack of communication. This is the reason why we get to read so many cases of molustation in the newspapers today. For a country which came up with the Kamasuthra n Thiruvalluvar's Kamapaal we have not progressed in fact we have decayed as a society in this acpect. I ho...
